“Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things…”

(Psalm 98: 1)

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” are familiar songs heard loud and proud in the hallways of many homes this Christmas. But, how many children can easily recite Christ-centered carols?

Lesson: Help teach your child the first few lines of a new song this year! Here’s a classic and favorite…

Away in a manger
No crib for His bed
The little Lord Jesus
Lay down His sweet head

The stars in the sky
Look down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay

The cattle are lowing
The poor Baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes

I love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my side
‘Til morning is nigh

Be near me, Lord Jesus
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me, I pray

Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to Heaven
To live with Thee there

It’s Better to GIVE than to RECEIVE

So… how do we teach our young children, that it is BETTER to give than to receive?  Our Secret Angel showed up today and showed us how!

ImageThe children shopped with exuberance as they mused about their angel giving them such a special mission!

The wrapping of the gifts was as fun as the shopping!  Make this a family experience for all to enjoy!

Proverbs 22:9
“He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.”

20 Days of Angel Moments!

This year we are changing things up a bit.  For the next 20 days we are going to publish our photos of FUN ways in which to use your angel as a tool in your home to spark an excitement and yearning for knowledge about the birth of our KING and a love for their Father in Heaven!

Write a letter from your angel to your child…

One of our favorite letters came from a customer, Jennifer Howard.  She shared a letter her elf wrote to her boys about their angel, Sarah…

Dear Austin and Noah,

This year I am sending the best surprise that there could be.

She is the Secret angel and she has more magic even than me!

She is your Guardian Angel and she is sent straight from Heaven above

To protect you and watch you and teach of the most incredible Love!

Every night she will send her report on how you behaved that day.

But she reports directly to God who wipes all of your sins away!

On special days she may bring with her a special treat!

A book, a toy, a DVD… or maybe something yummy to eat.

Her game is the same as mine, you must find her in her hiding spot.

She’s really pretty good at it…She likes the game a lot!

Remember not to touch her, even if she falls down…

If you do her power will flow out of her wings and gown!

You can talk to her and make wishes just like you did with me,

She will share your wishes with God above and they may just come to be.

God will share your wishes with Santa because God is Santa’s Boss!

Santa believes that Jesus is God’s son and that He died on the cross!

Santa is a servant of God and knows Christmas is about one thing,

Not lights or gifts or presents or seeing how loud you can sing!

Your Angel will help you remember what the True meaning of Christmas is.

God came to Earth as a Baby named Jesus, May the Glory Always be His!

Christmas is celebrating the Birthday of Our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Happy Birthday Jesus! Happy Birthday Jesus! Come on lets say it twice!!!

There is one more thing you need to know, Your Angel is not yet alive!

You must first give her a name so that She will have God’s power deep inside!

Please choose a good one as She will have it for all of her days!

She’s been waiting for a special Name and she came an awful long way!

On Christmas Eve she will go back to heaven to stay with God for a while.

But on special occasions she will return to remind you of what makes God smile.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

And never forget to spread the word of Gods Glory and Cheer!

Love Your Friend,

Joey Elf Elfee

* Please feel free to share these photos on Pinterest, Facebook, etc…  We appreciate your continued support!  Spreading the love of this angel comes when we all SHARE it on our various media outlets!  Thank you!

Naughty or Nice?

Santa is a jolly old soul who keeps a notorious “naughty or nice” list…IMG_8679

God also keeps a list, a whole book actually, called; The Book of Life. And unlike Santa’s forever changing list, the names on God’s list were there before it was ever written…

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” (Jeremiah 1:5)

As believers, God’s children are always on His list whether they behave or not. When we teach our children about the character of God they can take solace knowing they are always on His good list. God is love; and the Bible defines God’s love as a love that:

“… keeps no record of wrongs.” ( 1 Corinthians 13: 4-5 )

We are always forgiven by God. We do not have to convince God to forgive us! Jesus paid the price for us all when He died on the cross. All we have to do is open our hearts to receive Him, ask Him for forgiveness when we are “naughty” and thank Him for loving us no matter what! Why do we ask for forgiveness if we are already forgiven? We ask for His forgiveness because we want Him to know when we are sorry because we love Him!

Helping our children understand that God always loves them is one of the most important lessons we can ever teach. Explain to your child that when they pray they can talk to God and ask for His forgiveness, it’s like making an “apology” of sorts. And at the end of their prayers, teach them to thank Him for His forgiveness and for always loving them, no matter what!

“I am writing to you who are God’s children because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus.” (1 John 2:12)

A Parent’s Guide

We hope My Secret Angel and Me will become a new Christmas tradition Dec. 1st or as soon as you receive your Secret Angel!

The Christmas story is paraphrased from the New Testament books of Luke and Matthew in the Bible. The book gives a biblical account of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. There is a touch of “magic” in the beginning and the end of the book;  however,  angels are REAL!  They are sighted many times throughout scripture.

“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways…”

 (Psalm 91:11)

The magic begins as soon as your Secret Angel receives her earthly name. She comes “alive” each night after your child falls asleep and returns to heaven to sing your child’s praises. She flies back to a different hiding spot before your child wakes up.

It is up to us as parents to help our our children find our Secret Angel’s creative hiding spots and special messages. She loves to leave little notes!

Secret Angels are filled with magic so children should not touch her. What happens if your angel falls from her hiding spot or someone accidentally touches her? Just say a little prayer over your angel and her magic will be restored!

Have fun as you find special ways to use your Secret Angel as a tool to lead your child to know and love the LORD!

Merry CHRISTmas! – Day Twenty-Five

Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

Look who we found atop our tree this morning!  Our angel will celebrate with us on this day as we celebrate the birth of our king.  She might take flight tonight up to Heaven and will certainly return next year as we celebrate once again.  You never know when she might pop back into your home.  We hope that your angel helped keep God the focus of your celebration this Christmas.  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for sharing in this new tradition with us!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

So bake your cakes today and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus! We pray that your family lives in his light and love this year and always.  Blessings to all!

It’s Christmas Eve! – Day Twenty-Four

We are approaching the day of which our King was born!  Please read the below verses to your child tonight to prepare their hearts and minds.

Luke 2:1-20, In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Hats off – Day Twenty-three

“God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is ABOVE every name, that at the name of JESUS every  knee should bow, in heaven and on earth…”

(Philippians 2:9-10)

The image of Santa praying sparked a bit of curiosity in three-year-old Ayla’s mind one night as Ashley read her the book. “Mommy, where’s Santa’s hat? Why did he take it off? I want him to put it back on!,” she said with her unmistakable little voice. “It’s because Santa has so much respect for God. It’s the same reason we bow our heads when we pray. It is because God is so MIGHTY. We bow down to Him out of love and respect for Him,” Ashley answered.

Lesson – Ask your child what they think the picture means, why do they think Santa took off his hat? This image of Santa’s famed hat lying in the snow shows Santa’s ultimate respect for God. Santa is acknowleding that God is above him; God is his “boss.” It’s the same reason we lower our heads when we pray. We bow our heads and take our hats off out of reverence and recognition that He is the One and Only!
