“For it by grace that you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, is the gift of God…” (Ephesians 2:8)
The other night, my 6-year-old daughter Bella asked, “How can Jesus fit in my heart? He looks so big? How did He get in there?” Interestingly, she doesn’t have any trouble believing that a plump fellow in a red suit squeezes down millions of chimneys in one night and flies through the sky on a sleigh pulled by reindeer.
Beliefs are based on ideas, not facts. Beliefs are not absolute truths. God’s gift of faith comes when we understand there is only One Truth.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life…” (John 14:6)
Lesson: A good way to lead our children to the Truth is by teaching them to have a personal relationship with Jesus. During prayer time, ask them to “talk” to Jesus like they talk to you. We can also help our children by praying for them. We can ask God to intercede and help us teach our children. Pray for Him to place a supernatural understanding of His Word in your child’s heart. He promises He will!
