“Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things…”

(Psalm 98: 1)

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” are familiar songs heard loud and proud in the hallways of many homes this Christmas. But, how many children can easily recite the Christ-centered carols?

Lesson 17: Help teach your child the first few lines of a new song this year! Here’s a classic and favorite that goes along with all our book stands for!

Away in a manger
No crib for His bed
The little Lord Jesus
Lay down His sweet head

The stars in the sky
Look down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay

The cattle are lowing
The poor Baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes

I love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my side
‘Til morning is nigh

Be near me, Lord Jesus
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me, I pray

Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to Heaven
To live with Thee there
