“God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.” (Psalm 47:8)
“Mommy, did you know that God was the very first one born in the ENTIRE world? Mommy, does God live in my heart?”, asked seven-year-old Tyler. “Yes,” said Ashley. “He lives in your heart because you asked Him to come in! He lives in Mommy’s heart too… just a little piece of Him. Do you know where He sits all the time and never leaves? He sits on His throne in Heaven!”
Lesson– Ask your child to imagine what God’s throne looks like up in Heaven. Depending on their age, you can ask them to draw a picture. Where do they think Jesus sits?
“… he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne…” NLT (Hebrews 12:2)
How can God be on His throne at all times if He is in my heart too? God is SO BIG that He can be in more places than one and all at the same time! When God came down from Heaven, He became Jesus. When He returned to Heaven, He left us a piece of Himself behind called the Holy Spirit to guide and protect us. This is the little piece of Him that lives in our hearts and fills us with His joy and love! He is always with us!
“… take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below.” (Deuteronomy 4:39)
