” The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you!” (Luke 1:28)
“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.” (Luke 1:31-32)
Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to tell her she would give birth to our King! When children think of a king they envision gold crowns, coins and castles! God always knows exactly what He is doing! The King of all Kings was born in a manger, far away from palaces and riches! In John 18:36, Jesus says, “My kingdom is not of this world…”
Lesson 2: How is Jesus a King if He doesn’t wear a crown? Where is His castle?
Jesus reigns supreme in a Heavenly Kingdom far above crowns, jewels or anything our world has ever created or imagined! Jesus is King because He is God’s royal Son! He wears His crown on His heart and rules by grace! How do we explain grace to a child? Being nice even if someone isn’t nice to you. Being kind and loving simply because it pleases God and reflects the best versions of you and me!
